NOTICE OF MOVEMENT OF SHIP WITHIN THE MALMÖ PORT AREA

In accordance with the Act on the Movement of Ships in Public Ports (1986:371), the City of Malmö is seeking the owner of a recreational vessel in the northern port of Limhamn. The owner of a vessel illegally moored at Glasbrukskajen in the northern port of Limhamn is requested to come forward in order to immediately take possession of and move the vessel.

The vessel is in very poor condition, lacks cleats and satisfactory mooring equipment. There is a risk of the vessel sinking.

Within the Malmö port area, vessels may only be berthed, moored or anchored in a location designated by the Port Authority. Vessels may also not obstruct the authorized use of the port or permanently moor in a manner that is contrary to applicable regulations.

The ship's owner is legally obliged to reimburse the City of Malmö for the costs of the ship's removal, continued storage and notification. The port authority has the right to retain the ship as security for its claim for compensation for these costs. If the costs are not paid or security is not provided, the ship may be sold after three months have passed since it was removed. If the ship clearly lacks resale value, it may be disposed of instead of being removed or sold.
